    Join us to celebrate the 2020 Digital Development Awards

    Join us for the 2020 Digital Development Awards Ceremony to recognize the #DigiAwards winners for their achievements on April 21st at 9 a.m. EST (4 p.m. Kyiv Time).

    #DigiAwards recognize and celebrate USAID-funded projects and activities that use digital technology to sustain open, secure, and inclusive digital ecosystems in order to improve measurable development and humanitarian-assistance outcomes. 

    After receiving over 140 applications from around the world, five winners were selected for the 2020 Digital Development Awards. Ukraine is one of five winners chosen, namely the USAID and UK aid funded project “Transparency and Accountability in Public Administration and Services / TAPAS”.

    TAPAS won a 2020 Digi Award for supporting the Prozorro public e-procurement system and the accompanying DOZORRO anti-corruption network & public procurement monitoring portal. Both DOZORRO and Prozorro helped introduce a high degree of transparency to public procurement in Ukraine. Between October 2017 and March 2021, while Prozorro helped save almost $6 billion in public money, the DOZORRO network analyzed 37,800 high-risk tenders. Of these, over 35,200 were flagged and brought to the attention of public procuring entities and oversight authorities through formal complaints; more than 9,100 subsequently became anti-corruption “wins” — that is, the tenders were cancelled or fundamentally amended by public procuring entities. The total value of these “problem” tenders totaled more than $906 million — a big win for transparent, ethical public procurement in Ukraine.
